Virginia’s Kids Belong believes that kids in foster care have the right to tell their own stories, so they empower them to do this through the I Belong Project. For each “I Belong Day”, they bring in professional photographers and videographers and host one-day video shoots all over the state, capturing the kids' personalities and share it across adoption websites all over the country. So many online adoption registries share outdated or quickly-taken 'mugshots' of kids in care with little information about who the kids truly are. The I Belong Project solves this problem one child at a time and has helped countless kids throughout the country find adoptive families. Children all over the Commonwealth are finding families through the collective efforts of volunteers, donors, advocates, and corporate sponsors.
